Wang Zhonglin, secretary of theCPC Hubei ProvincialCommittee and chairman of the Standing Committeeof theHubei Provincial People’s Congress, met in Wuhan on May 18 withadelegationofsenior officialsfrom Pakistani political partiesanda friendship delegation from Pakistan.

Wang warmly welcomed the delegationsand said China and Pakistan enjoy a time-honored friendship. In recent years, under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both countries, Hubei and Pakistan have achieved fruitful results in trade and economic cooperation, talent exchanges and cultural engagement, while ties between Hubei and Sindh Province have continued to deepen.

Wang noted that Hubei is anational powerhouse ineconomy, scienceand education, ecologicalconservationand agriculture. The province is working to advance high-quality development and leverage its strengths in transportation, scientific and educational resources and industrial capacity to create new opportunities for cooperation.

Wang said that, as this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of China-Pakistan diplomatic relations, Hubei will implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and deepen practical cooperation with Pakistan in key areas including trade, agriculture, culture, science and education, contributing to a closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era.

Anusha Ahmed, deputy secretary-general of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, and Syed Hassan Tariq, member of Pakistan’s National Assembly, thanked Hubei for its warm hospitality. They expressed hope for expanded cooperation in digital technologies and agricultural science and technology, as well as greater contributions to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, bringing greater benefits to the peoples of both countries.
