The third session of the 14th Hubei Provincial People’s Congress opened on the morning of January 16 in Wuhan, Hubei.
International delegates invited to Hubei’s two sessions
This year’s opening meeting was attended by 29 international delegates from 13 countries and regions. Among them are French consul-general Jean-Yves Roux, UK consul-general Dominic McAllister, US consul-general Christopher Green, deputy consul-general Ahn Younggi of the ROK Consulate-General in Wuhan, acting director Pak Mui Har of Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Wuhan, and director Li Xueya of Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute Wuhan Office, as well as foreign consular officials, trade representatives, senior executives of foreign businesses, and international experts and scholars.
After hearing the government work report delivered by acting governor Li Dianxun, international observers expressed their excitement about Hubei’s social and economic developments and cooperation prospects with their own countries and regions.

The opening meeting was followed by a new year gathering held by the Hubei Foreign Affairs Office.

Amid the festive atmosphere, Mme. Zhang Xiaomei, Director-General of the Hubei Foreign Affairs Office expressed her new year greetings and gratitude to all participants for their efforts in facilitating the exchanges and cooperation between Hubei and the countries and regions they represent. She said that under the new leadership of the provincial party committee and government, Hubei will engage more closely with the rest of the world.
