The Qujialing site in the city of Jingmen, Hubei Province, was listed among six prominent archaeological findings discovered in China last year, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS)said on Tuesday.
Discovered in the 1950s, the Qujialing site is the most representative site of Neolithic culture in the middle reaches of Yangtze River. It was selected as one of the first 100 large site-conservation projects by the National Cultural Heritage Administration in 2005.
The six findings to make the list were selected from archaeological discoveries submitted by archaeological research institutions from across the country.(en.hubei.gov.cn by Zhang Yawei)
