The Marshal of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, Piotr Całbecki led a delegation to Hubei from October 17 to 19. Governor Wang Zhonglin, accompanied by Vice Governor Chen Ping, met with the delegation in Wuhan on October 17.

In his welcoming remarks, Wang highlighted the long-lasting friendship between Hubei and Kuyavian-Pomeranian that started back in 1996 and evolved into an official sister province relationship in 2011. He also briefed the delegation on Hubei’s socio-economic developments and strengths in science, education, agriculture, and ecological conservation. Hubei and Kuyavian-Pomeranian are economically complementary to each other and enjoys a solid foundation for cooperation. Guided by the China-Poland comprehensive strategic partnership, Hubei will continue to deepen cooperation with Kuyavian-Pomeranian in industry, trade, education, and culture.

In response, Marshal Piotr Całbecki expressed his recognition of Hubei’s achievements and gratitude for its support for his province during the pandemic. He said Kuyavian-Pomeranian is ready to deepen practical cooperation with Hubei in innovation, ecological protection, education, and culture. Całbecki also welcomed Hubei enterprises to invest in Kuyavian-Pomeranian.

During their stay in Hubei, the delegation met with Director-General Zhang Xiaomei of Hubei FAO. The two sides had in-depth discussions on further strengthening sister province relationship. The delegation also visited the Wuhan Motor Show, CORNEX New Energy, Wuhan University, and Wuhan Conservatory of Music.
