As of November 1, 2020, the population of the Han nationality in the province is 54.9815 million, accounting for 95.20 percent of the total; the population of the ethnic minorities stands at 2.7711 million, accounting for 4.80 percent of the total. Compared with 2010, the Han population increased by 221,300 people, an increase of 0.39 percent while the population of ethnic minorities increased by 302,600 people, an increase of 12.26 percent, according to the data on the seventh national population census released by Hubei Provincial Statistics Bureau on May 26, 2021.
