Wuhan’s three metro projects with a total mileage of 75 km– Line 5, Line 6 (Phase II) and Line 16 – are scheduled to open to traffic bythe endof the year, the Wuhan Metro Group said.
The Line 5 links Wuhan Railway Station with South Third Ring Road.With a total length of 35.1km, there will be 25stations, connectingseveral most frequented areas in the city such as Simenkou Business Circle, Wuchang Binjiang Business District and Xudong Business Circle.
It is the first self-driving metro line in the city, which adopts the domestically-made FAO system with the highest level of automation (GoA4). The trains along the line are designed to complete full-automatic scenarios, including remote wake-up, power-on self-test, unmanned departure and auto wash.
Phase II of Line 6 starts from Jinyinhu Park Station and runs west along Jinshan Avenue. Line 16,connectingHannan District and the main urban area of Wuhan City,runs alongsidethe Yangtze Riverin a part.It enablespassengersto enjoy the picturesque scenery of the Yangtze River andthebridgeson it.
The total metro mileage in Wuhan will reach 484 km, with the launching of three metro lines.
