Bodaofeng Peak is located on the western side of Tiantangzhai Forest Park, the tallest of the Dabie Mountains, which are in Luotian, Huanggang, Hubei Province. It is located in a national forest park, the Dabie Mountains National Geopark, a national 4A class scenic spot. As one of the main peaks of the Dabie Mountains, its elevation is 1,408.2 meters; the forest coverage is around 98%, and the average temperature is 16.4 degrees Celsius.

Bodaofeng Peak is famous for its scenic beauty and natural landscape, which includes wondrous pines, picturesque rocks, and steep peaks. For those interested in touring Bodaofeng Peak, there are several tour lines, including those to Xiguoding (锡锅顶), Wolonggang (卧龙岗), and Yuanmenggu (圆梦谷). All of these places are well-known for their beauty.

There are cable cars, which run along two lines that are around 1,000 meters long, allowing visitors to look out across the entire scenic spot.

In addition to Bodaofeng Peak, there is Hegao Ancient Town (鹤皋古镇), which is located in the mountains at an elevation of 1,048 meters above sea level. The hundreds of 24-hour shops make visitors forget that they are in the mountains.

The scenic spot also has launched the “Strolling Leisurely” activity series, which include cycling tours, hiking in the canyons, camping, and a romantic wedding tour.

Cycling enthusiasts can cycle along Hegao Street and then make their way to the Yuanmeng Lake area. This experience offers tourists the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of nature and the excitement of outdoor recreational activities.

For those interested in traveling to this area, we recommend spending two days in Luotian. On the first day, you can visit Bodaofeng Peak and stay in Hegao Ancient Town. On the second day, you can visit Tiantangzhai Forest Park, a national 4A class scenic spot. If you pay attention, you will find that there are over fifty waterfalls within Tiantangzhai Forest Park. The most famous is Yunya Waterfall, whose waters fall from a height of 400 meters.

“Ten Big Bowls”, a collection of homemade farm dishes, is the local specialty. A common treat in the villages in and around Tiantangzhai Forest Park, it was originally created for banquets and wedding ceremonies. During the meal, the meat dishes and the vegetable dishes are served in turn. This special collection involves eggs, fish, meatballs, dark mushrooms cooked with hock, and some other dishes.
