Overview
Smiths Falls is located in Eastern Ontario, Canada. It covers an area of about 9.66 square kilometers and has a population of around 9,000. Though an inland region, Smiths Falls is linked to Ottawa and Kingston by the Rideau Canal running through it. Smiths Falls offers great views and various activities such as camping, boating, hiking, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing.
Relations with Xiangyang
On July 17, 2010, Xiangyang and Smiths Falls signed an agreement to officially establish the sister city relations. On the same day, the two sides signed several cooperation agreements on economic development, cultural education, tourism, and talent exchanges.
In February 2012, Smiths Falls and Willis College of Business and Technology jointly held a winter camp for middle school students in Xiangyang. Students had a first-hand experience of local life and culture.
