Kyiv Oblast is a state in central and northern Ukraine, with an area of 28,121 square kilometers and a population of 1,732,235 (estimated in 2016). The administrative center of the oblast is in Kyiv city, the capital of Ukraine, despite the city not being part of the oblast.
